Ring Main Unit (RMU):

A Ring Main Unit (RMU) is a compact, factory-assembled, metal-enclosed switchgear system used in ring-type distribution networks. It is installed at load connection points to ensure uninterrupted power supply and improved network reliability.

The RMU consists of two switches that connect the load from both directions of the main supply line, along with a circuit breaker or fused switch to supply power to a distribution transformer (MV to LV conversion).
