BIS/CRS Registration

Instead of using a generator as its AC power source, a battery-based, utility-interactive inverter will be connected to the power grid. Utility-connected Photovoltaic Inverters must be Registered, Per BIS and is available with ECS India.

Utility-interconnected photovoltaic (PV) inverters are used to convert DC power produced by solar panels into AC power for use in the electric grid. BIS registration for utility-interconnected PV inverters is mandatory in India, as per the BIS certification scheme.

The BIS certification scheme for utility-interconnected PV inverters includes testing and evaluation of the product according to relevant Indian standards. This includes testing for safety, performance, and environmental requirements.

Manufacturers of utility-interconnected PV inverters must comply with the relevant Indian standards and obtain BIS certification before selling their products in India. The certification is valid for two years and must be renewed thereafter.

The BIS registration mark must be displayed on the product and its packaging to indicate compliance with Indian standards. Non-compliance can result in penalties, confiscation of goods, and legal action.
